Induction Soldering a Pair of Magnetic Steel Pins

A client from the automotive industry contacted THE LAB at Ambrell as they needed to solder a pair of magnetic steel pins/posts to manufacture an automotive component. An Ambrell EASYHEATTM 1.2 kW, 150-400 kHz induction heating system equipped with a remote workhead and two-turn pancake coil specifically designed for this application was determined to be the right solution for this soldering application.

Curing a Coating by Heating a Steel Tube and an Aluminum Block

A client contacted THE LAB at Ambrell because they needed to heat a steel tube and an aluminum block for a cylinder liner coating curing application in the automotive industry. THE LAB did testing and determined that an EKOHEAT® 30 kW, 50-150 kHz induction heating system equipped with a remote workhead would be optimal for this application. The target temperature for the application was 400 °F (204 °C). Two coils were used for this application: a single position two-turn channel coil and a single position four-turn helical coil.

Bonding Automotive Trim Vinyl Covering

A client contacted THE LAB at Ambrell needing to heat aluminum molding to activate an adhesive coating prior to applying the vinyl. The target temperature for the application was 500 ºF (260 ºC). THE LAB determined that an Ambrell EKOHEAT® 20 kW power supply with a specially designed 14-turn helical coil would be the right solution for the client's requirements.
