Induction Heating Magnetic Steel for Insertion into Polypropylene

A pallet manufacturer needed to heat magnetic steel to 300 ºF (149 ºC) for insertion into a polypropylene board and turned to THE LAB at Ambrell to design a solution. THE LAB determined an Ambrell EKOHEAT® 40 kW, 50-150 kHz induction heating system with a remote workhead  and single-turn channel coil would work well for this metal-to-plastic insertion application.

Inserting Threaded Brass Parts into a Plastic Housing

An company came to THE LAB at Ambrell needing to insert brass threaded inserts into seven locations on a plastic thermostat housing. THE LAB determined that an Ambrell EASYHEATTM 3.5 kW induction heating system would be the right solution for their heat staking application. Three different coils for varying patterns were designed by Ambrell's team of applications engineers and used during testing.
