Sobre el Calentamiento por Inducción

El calentamiento por inducción es un método para obtener calor continuo y rápido para aplicaciones industriales en las que haya que soldar o alterar las propiedades de los metales u otros materiales conductores de la electricidad. Es posible utilizar metales tales como acero, cobre, aluminio, latón o semiconductores como, por ejemplo, carbono, grafito o carburo de silicio. Para calentar materiales no conductores, tales como, los plásticos o el vidrio, se emplea la inducción para calentar un susceptor que posee conductividad eléctrica, normalmente el grafito, el cual transmite el calor hacia el material no conductor.

en una tiempo mínimo. Se calientan áreas muy pequeñas dentro de tolerancias precisas de producción, sin modificar las características metalúrgicas particulares. Las piezas se recuecen por inducción en una atmósfera controlada, sin fundente ni ninguna fase de limpieza adicional.
La inducción puede utilizarse para el calentamiento de superficie o pasante; es posible un recocido superficial, dependiendo del tiempo, de la temperatura y de las características del material.
El control en ciclo cerrado, mediante un pirómetro óptico u otro dispositivo de detección de temperatura, puede proporcionar un calor constante con una tolerancia de hasta 3ºC a 700ºC. El calentamiento por inducción también es ideal para procesos de producción en línea, porque hace posible reproducir ciclos de calentamiento iguales, rápidos y precisos.
Los sistemas típicos de trcocido por inducción pueden ser de 1 a 250 kW.

os tratamientos de calentamiento por recocido se caracterizan en gran parte por cambios microestructurales inducidos que, en último término, son responsables de la modificación de las propiedades mecánicas del material. El objetivo de este proceso es reducir la dureza del metal y mejorar su ductibilidad.

El recocido se refiere específicamente al proceso de llevar un material a su punto más blando posible. Un proceso de templado reblandece el metal, pero no todo lo posible.

El grado de temple depende del material, de la temperatura máxima alcanzada y de la longitud del tiempo de enfriamiento. El proceso de recocido con alivio de tensión se utiliza para evitar los efectos del trabajo en frío; es decir, para reblandecer y aumentar la ductibilidad de un metal previamente martillado en frío. Pueden generarse tensiones internas como resultado de los procesos de deformación plástica, como el mecanizado o la rectificación, un enfriamiento no uniforme en un proceso de soldadura o fundición, o una transformación de fase. Si no se eliminan las tensiones internas puede haber distorsiones o alabeos. El recocido elimina estas tensiones cuando la pieza se calienta a la temperatura recomendada, se mantiene a esa temperatura durante el tiempo suficiente y luego se enfría lentamente a temperatura ambiente.

El tiempo tiene una importancia esencial. El tiempo efectivo de recocido debe ser lo suficientemente prolongado como para que tenga lugar la transformación necesaria.

Se puede evitar o minimizar la oxidación superficial o la formación de cascarilla recociendo a una temperatura relativamente baja o en una atmósfera no oxidante.
