Levitation Melting an Alloy

Levitation Melting an Alloy

A slug of alloy is placed into the specially-designed levitation coil and induction heat is applied with our EASYHEAT 8310. The slug begins to levitate and to heat in the magnetic field due to eddy currents in the alloy. As temperature exceed 1900F, the molten mass de-couples from the field and drops out of the coil, through the copper guide funnel and into the die.
