Tempering a Cutting Tool

In this application video a cutting tool is heated to 1400 degrees F (760 C) for a tempering application with an Ambrell EKOHEAT 15 kW induction heating system. Temperature indicating paint is on the cutting tool, and it’ll turn clear at 1400 degrees F. The EKOHEAT is running at 130 kHz and will be able to handle various diameters of steel tools. The Auto-Tap feature available in the EKOHEAT will reduce the need to change hardware settings in the machine. The part heated to temperature in just 30 seconds.
